LONGWOOD, FL-To Gary Miller, writing a book is just a walk in the park. Miller's
goal, as expressed in Outdoor Truths: Hunting and Fishing for Answers, is to stimulate
un-churched hunters and fishermen to contemplate their spiritual lives
in a way that is not offensive. The book compiles articles Miller wrote over the
last few years that were printed each week in newspapers and regional magazines
in 13 states. |
who is very sure about the existence of God, but who remains very unsure about church,
Christians, and Jesus." In 2004 alone, over 74 million hunting and fishing licenses were sold to outdoorsmen all over America. Miller believes it's high time he goes to their world with the gospel. "Because I am a hunter and fisherman, I understand how this group of people thinks," says Miller. "From my childhood, I have spent countless hours in the woods or on the water." Gary Miller has been a pastor at the same church for 17 years. He married his wife, Teresa, 26 years ago, and they have three children: Bethany, Brittany, and Stuart, each of whom has watched him turn his time in the outdoors into a passion to write. Without their love and support, this would not be possible. Miller speaks at wild game dinners and fishing tournaments, he is a pro-staff member of several outdoor companies, and he writes a weekly article. Xulon Press is the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 2,700 titles published to date. Retailers may order Outdoor Truths: Hunting and Fishing for Answers, through Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors. |
